How tuition works
We give you the figures in writing at your placement visit. Here is what sets them, and how everything else works.
Two things set tuition: the length of the lesson, and the teacher's level. We give you our figures in writing at your placement visit.
A lesson of 30, 45 or 60 minutes
Weekly, once a week through the term
The teacher you are matched with
Registration
A yearly registration covers your student file, the placement visit and scheduling your weekly time with a teacher. It is due when you accept the time we offer.
Billing
Tuition is billed monthly, by autopay or by invoice. Whether a month covers the whole term is your choice at registration.
Siblings
Siblings are welcome, and we put their lessons back to back where we can. Ask at your placement visit how it works for your family.
Withdrawing
We ask for a month's notice before a last lesson, in writing, or the end of the term if you prefer. We will explain what happens to a term in progress.
Missed lessons and make-ups
A lesson you cancel with a day's notice is made up within the term, and a lesson your teacher cancels always is. Recitals and the adult evening are not lessons and are not made up.
Books, instruments and other costs
Ask your teacher before you buy or rent anything. Music books and a keyboard to practice on are separate costs. A keyboard to borrow can be arranged at the front desk.
